The Montgomery County Women’s Council of Organizations celebrated its silver anniversary of honoring women in the community who have distinguished themselves through their volunteerism. Hosted by The Woodland Waterway Marriott and Convention Center, the 25th Annual “Women of Distinction” Luncheon, May 15, presented twenty-one women with awards.

After the silent auction, the Marriott served a patriotic-themed luncheon consisting of Red, White & Blue Salad, Southern Chicken, and Blueberry Cheesecake. While attendees dined, La Donna Gatlin entertained the audience singing “The Song in You.” Keynote speaker was Linda Nelson of Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital, whose message was titled “The Gift of Volunteering.” The twenty-one women honored definitely have that gift.
