The Honorable Kevin Brady Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of MCABW

Montgomery County Association of Business Women celebrated their 10th anniversary on August 25, 2015 with over 100 people in attendance at their monthly lunch meeting. The Honorable Kevin Brady presented MCABW’s Founder & Executive Director, Carol Gooch, with an autographed copy of the Congressional Record dated July 29, 2015 of the Proceedings and Debates of the 114th Congress, First Session, whereby he honored MCABW on the floor of the Congress for 10 years of excellence in serving Montgomery County.

After graduating from Leadership Montgomery County in 2003, Carol decided to form a group so that women could network their business. The group was one of the first women’s networking associations in Montgomery County and its success has spurred the creation of many similar groups.

MCABW not only provides a forum for business women to develop and enhance professional and personal relationships with their peers, the group also actively works to improve Montgomery County. MCABW has helped many non-profit organizations in Montgomery County and they award college scholarships to Montgomery County High School females.

The women of MCABW represent all walks of life – there are members returning to the world of work, young members who are just starting their careers and seasoned professionals willing to pass on their wisdom and knowledge. MCABW also offers a complimentary mentoring program for its members.

As The Honorable Kevin Brady stated in the Congressional Record, “I can’t wait to see what the future holds for the Montgomery County Association of Business Women.”
