Janet Werner, MCABW's 2012 Woman of Distinction

The Montgomery County Association of Business Women has chosen Janet Werner to represent their organization as their 2012 Woman of Distinction. A five-year member of the MCABW, in addition to being on the Board of Directors, Janet oversees the public relations and communications for the organization.

The MCABW is 200-members strong and founded for the purpose of helping women reach their full potential. In keeping with the MCABW motto “Women Helping Women,” Janet has lent her support to many non-profit groups in Montgomery County, of which there are currently fourteen non-profit and social service organizations in the MCABW, some affiliates, and non-members too. A 26-year resident of Montgomery County, Janet has seen the community grow, and the needs of the community grow as well. She has parlayed her skills as a Toastmaster (a past President of the Compaq Computer Corporation Toastmaster club, now HP Toastmasters), a technical writer, and an entertainer, to assist with the county’s many needs.

Janet is a graduate of the University of Houston with both a Bachelors of Science in Technology and a minor in Psychology, a Masters of Science in Occupational Technology, and a Masters of Business Administration from Our Lady of the Lake University. She is licensed agent with High Point Financial Group, and a Woodlands resident. A fifth generation Texan and a direct descendant of Dick Dowling, the hero of Sabine Pass, Janet has vowed to live and die in Texas.
